Three Purple Pigs

Meet the Owners

Three Purple Pigs was founded by Jackie Mohr and Jessica Harris, sisters and both moms of young children.  Their goal was to open a chic children's boutique that offered customers unique and stylish handcrafted baby, toddler and children’s gifts at competitive prices.  Three Purple Pigs' was founded on its feature product - a cozy and stylish hooded bath towel of exceptional quality and design.  The product line was quickly expanded to include bibs, burp cloths, onesies, tug-a-tag blankies and custom orders.  We sincerely hope you enjoy shopping at Three Purple Pigs. Thank you for visiting.

Valley mothers find creative ways for memories to 'last forever' Ahwatukee Foothills News - September 3, 2008 edition; page 12

Maternity Keepsake owner Gloria Newman is expanding her local business of creating lasting memories to families across the Valley. The Ahwatukee Foothills resident is now offering additional casting options to her clients, including moldings of baby's bottoms and appointments at local day spa Tropical Mist When she started doing pregnancy tummy castings, Newman wanted to catch memories. "I wanted to create a business where I could capture the moment of the pregnant woman," Newman said. The tush mold is decorated and takes approximately a week to complete. A basic cast includes a tush tag, with handmade decorations and sayings like "cute as a button" or "bundle of joy." Maternity Keepsake's tush tag designer Heather Dollac, who started scrap booking when her child was born, uses her artistic background to custom-make the tags. Newman's casting process uses preservatives that she developed to last a lifetime. "I designed a preservative that lasts a lifetime and the castings have a special finish that compliments the mold," she noted. Maternity Keepsake offers casting appointments at the Tropical Mist day spa, located off Ray Road. "Gloria and I thought it would be a good fit," said Kim Denslow, owner of Tropical Mist, adding that Newman has displayed examples of her work at the day spa for some time. "We have a really nice place to provide treatment and relaxation."

In addition to making lasting memories for expectant families, Newman networks with other creative mothers in the Valley, including the owners of children's boutique Three Purple Pigs and post-birth memento business Precious Wee Piggies. "Our specialty that sets us apart from other children's boutiques, is (we) offer custom embroidery on all of our products to give that special touch," said Jessica Harris, co-owner of Three Purple Pigs online boutique. The "chic children's boutique," owned and operated by Harris and her sister, Jackie Mohr, offers personalized bibs, onesies, tutus, hair bows, blankets and even jewelry. "It is really hot to be able to give someone a personalized gift," Harris said. "Our big feature is that we can make custom, made-to-order products for our clients." Gilbert resident and mother Michelle Atanasoff has teamed up with Newman and Harris to form a network of mother's offering creative keepsakes for families Valleywide. "I thought that Michelle would be an extension of my business," Newman said. "It is the before and after." Atanasoff, who specializes in heirloom-quality LifeCast statues, shadow boxes and ornaments of children's prints, has been operating her business Valleywide for three years."What I do is pretty much endless," said Atanasoff, who is passionate about creating memories for her clients. She has been called to homes, first baseball games and even delivery rooms to do moldings. "Families have welcomed me in to their hearts, their homes and even delivery rooms," she said. Atanasoff, who met Newman at a craft show at Babies R Us, enjoys being a part of a creative women's referral group. "It's really nice to be part of a group of women who are trying to do something for families," Atanasoff said. Newman encourages creative mothers to become a part of the group. "We really do refer each other," Newman said. "We are always looking for creative mothers or artists who create family art to join our referral group."
